Directory Distributing Awarded Secondary Distribution Network for Southwestern Bell Advertising

Directory Distributing Associates will once again be managing the secondary delivery network for Southwestern Bell Advertising. DDA has been awarded a three-year agreement to handle all warehousing and secondary distribution in SBA's five-state region of Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. The agreement is effective February 1, 1999.

Congratulations are in order for our bid team of Mike Shelton, Stan Sivori, Bob Politte, John Richardson, Gary Grimes and Rich Rackers. Jim Fowler served as leader of the team process. Additional support from our regional offices as well as from the home office was instrumental in the preparation of this proposal and the award of the work.

Stan Sivori, Vice President of Eastern Operations, is heading our transition team along with staff from Product Development Corporation and Southwestern Bell Advertising. We look forward to once again serving Southwestern Bell Advertising by providing the highest quality delivery service available in the industry today.

Ronald McDonald House

In December 1997 the employees at DDA decided they wanted to give back to the community all through the year, not just during the Holiday Season. Several community projects were considered and the Ronald McDonald Houses were chosen because they were in many of the cities where we have offices and warehouses. We hoped if things went well in St. Louis, a challenge could be issued to our other locations to get them involved.

After calling Ronald McDonald House, we learned of their "Wish List" and Family Dinner project. Participation in the Family Dinner meant making a commitment to cook for the families staying at the House on a particular evening. We obligated DDA to participate in at least four dinners.

On April 6, 1998 the Accounting Department prepared the first Family Dinner for the House on Park Avenue. Despite a small fire in the oven, we were asked to return. On June 1, the Routing Department prepared a meal with no frantic moments at all. In July a call came to us from the Family Dinner Director, Kathy Timpe, that there were some days around the 4th of July holiday that needed filling-could we help? We didn't have to look far to come up with enough volunteers to have a Bar-B-Que on July 1. The last dinner of the year will be December 29.

The families staying at RMH are so appreciative and thankful for all that is being done for them. Everyone who has helped with a Family Dinner is more than willing to return and the warmth that fills their hearts goes beyond the Holiday Season.
